Re: Gary Neville

the game has changed, but you can still find leaders and physical players.
two players from Southampton - Wanyama & Van Dijk would have been perfect.

that's just off the top of my head, but Wenger seems insistent on not needing those types.

Re: Gary Neville
I quite like Neville. Shit player he may have been for a shitcunt club but you have to like his passion and be amused at his total lack of impartiality when it comes to his team. The cunting of Arsenal players was partly accurate but mostly his irritation at his hated neighbour team winning a cup. Thought it was pretty good TV and I wish we had some passion like that in our squad. To have that much anger in you after you've retired from the game is impressive and no doubt deeply unhealthy.

Re: Gary Neville
Not many players like that out there any more goose, the game is full of pussies as tackling and being hard but fair has been outlawed.

Wenger should definitely go if they want to push forward again, but their fans have definitely got short memories considering he's won them 3 league titles and 7 FA cups since being there.

We're laughing at a club for being a shambles and disgrace when we have 4 major trophies in our history!

Point yesterday though wasn't because they lost to one of the best teams in the world, but because their lack of effort was pathetic. Neville nailed it with his comments.

Re: Gary Neville
what i dont understand about Wenger, is that when his team were the best around they had a nasty, physical edge with Keown, Petite, Viera etc etc.
Now. it is clear as day to everyone outside that club what they have needed for many years now - proper centre half & a proper centre midfielder.............. and yet they never seem to bother getting one.
instead they spend millions on lots of players who all do the same job.

He was definitely only reporting what he saw but he kept on, and on, and on....Poor old Martin Tyler had to keep looking for positives for the grieving Arsenal viewers to counter Gary N's rants.

Was it Gary Neville making the kid wearing the bins cry??

Nope... it was the pathetic spineless mob on the pitch....

I thought he was spot on and it was brilliant to hear.

Re: Gary Neville
It was uncomfortable TV with his commentary. Yes, some of the players were walking on a few occasions. Yes, the first goal was soft and the defender should have been stronger. However, his rhetoric was over the top. I hate both teams, so didn't give a shit who won.

"since 2004 they have been so far off the title and CL you wouldn't believe."

They finished second two seasons ago, and make the last 16 of the CL every season.

We still celebrate coming third in the mid 80's. On what planet are Arsenal a disgrace for losing a final?

Gary Neville is a complete cunt.

Tell you what fucked the Goons up... wasn't Wenger... it was moving from that superb stadium to the soul less shit hole they reside in now....

"If those FA cups had come whilst they were still competitive in the league and CL then great. But they weren't."

So it's a better achievement winning those when not competitive then?

Blimey, you almost seem angry by Wenger.

You’re talking about Arsenal like they’re one of the great European giants. They aren’t.

Great record. Up to 2004. Three FA cups since then. Would be amazing for us. But not Arsenal.
And since 2004 they have been so far off the title and CL you wouldn't believe.

As I said, since 2004 the club has been enveloped in mediocrity. Caused by Wenger. If those FA cups had come whilst they were still competitive in the league and CL then great. But they weren't.

It's not good enough for them and I blame Wenger. So do many others. He's been left to do as he wants by the club and has been left behind by other managers.

Just my thoughts.

Exactly, Pony. If Arsenal are a disgrace for losing a cup final to Man City, what are the rest of the clubs that never make it to that stage.

Football since Sky have taken over has become an elitist pile of shit.

What? Like we do every day on here.

It's a thread about comments made by Neville regarding Arsenal. That's what's being discussed. If you don't like then go to another thread.

Re: Gary Neville
Are we really in a position to be so smug about a team that is consistently more succesful than us? Reckon we're better off looking more closely at the hundreds of embarrassing things that are wrong with West Ham Utd. Fuck Arsenal.

pulhampete 1:37 Mon Feb 26
Re: Gary Neville
It all hinges on the expectations of the fans. Unfortunately gooners expect to be competing with Man City/Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and now Spurs - its that last one that must really hurt them the most.
Wenger's record does speak for itself, unfortunately other teams have overtaken them and he doesn't appear to be able to do anything about it in the league (and hasn't really achieved much in Europe apart from one final in 20 something years).

One McAvennieeeeee 1:28 Mon Feb 26

I couldn't care less what Gooners think. Wengers record backs me up.
